As we all know, horror is a vast sub genre. From natural to supernatural, from creature to psychological, from serial killer to Zombie and etcetera etcetra horror has a mountain of form. Due to its variety and the variety bringing mouthwatering plotlines.
Even though having a ton of sub genres, many people define horror in the aspect of ghost. For those people horror means anxiety produced when they see a ghost passes them in a blink while they are going to bathroom late midnight from their bed. Its that simple for them to define horror.
But my question to them have they ever faced a true horror?
I don’t know whether he/she sees a ghost that late midnight to scare the shit outta them or not but i do know one thing that they are terrified. And that terror is not because of seeing a ghost its because of your heart finds ghost in surroundings. And at that very moment a small frog is enough to make them pee.
So what does this mean? It means that supernatural horror is the false horror. The person didn’t get terrified by a ghost but was terrified by 2 things, one being the frog and another being his mind.
Let me ask some people a realistic question. What will make you scare the most?
” You are in a room alone locked inside with all windows too closed. It’s pitch dark outside. You are in your bed reading a magazine with a jar full of water beside you. Just then you are thirsty and take the jarand just then you see Sadako( the ghost of The Ring Movie)”.
Similarly “You arein a room alone locked inside with all windows too closed. It’s pitch dark outside. You are in your bed reading a magazine with a jar full of water beside you. Just then you are thirsty and take the jar and just then you see a masked man with dagger in his hand pointing straight at you.”
Are you afraid? Yes. I bet you are afraid in both the cases but think again strike your head which is the most realistic one you will find yourself to be in? And that’s the true horror.
